Help or Support Bay Search and Rescue

As an independent charity we always need any help we can get, and there are many ways that you can help us continue to provide our unique service in the Morecambe Bay and South Lakes area.

As a member of our support team
If you feel you could offer some of your time we would be delighted to have you as a support member of the team. Unlike the operational team who actually respond to callouts we also need people on an informal basis to man our display stands at local shows and events, explaining a little of what we do, showing the public around our rescue vehicles, promoting our sponsored walk and fundraising generally. Even if its only a few hours it would be a help. Currently most events are manned by the operational team members (and its a bit too much!). Contact Us

Schools and Clubs Fundraising Events
We would be delighted to work wth any Schools, Groups or Clubs who may want to fundraise in support of the team and Charity. Depending on your location we may be able to visit your school or meeting place and provide a Powerpoint presentation, or better still we would be happy to arrange a visit to our Rescue Station at Flookburgh where we can show you around all our facilities and our range of rescue vehicles and equipment. We have seating for approx 30 at the Station for our presentations and can provide hot and cold drinks. Ideally it helps if this can be a weekend or evening as the team all have day jobs, but we can sometimes accommodate schools during the day. Contact Us

Volunteer in our Charity Shop
We are always looking for people who can spare 3 hours a week to work a morning or an afternoon in our Charity Shops on Kents Bank Road in Grange over Sands and Beetham Road in Milnthorpe, see our Charity Shops page for more details.

Organise Your Own Event
There are lots of wonderful activities you can organise in aid of the Bay Search and Rescue team. Even though a fundraising event might seem daunting, with lots of enthusiasm, commitment and support you will find the experience enjoyable and very rewarding

To help promote your event, and to make it easy for people to sponsor and support you we can provide a dedicated fundraising page for you via our Virgin money giving charity pages. Simply click on the button below to setup your own fundraising page. It will allow you email your friends and link to your facebook or twitter accounts as well. It also means people can pay online so you do not need to handle any money, and Gift Aid worth 28p for every £1 is added straight away.
