Donations

We are an independent organisation and Charity (No. 1090880) manned by a dedicated team of volunteers and funded almost entirely from public donations. Donations of any size are always welcome and help keep our unique service running. Operating costs (mostly insurances and fuel) are met primarily this way and by proceeds from our two charity shops plus the efforts of the team members attending local shows and giving talks to demonstrate our work and raise safety awareness. Capital items and major equipment costs are met from bequests, grants and the proceeds from our annual sponsored Cross Bay Walk.

We are extremely grateful to groups or individuals who raise money for the Bay Search and Rescue team. We rely very much on the goodwill and generosity of others. So if you would like to support us, here’s how:

Donate Online:

Quickly and easily with Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving:

Donate with Just Giving
Make a donation using Virgin Money Giving

Please click on the image above to make a donation (or send any money raised) via our Just Giving and Virgin money giving charity donation pages. These are our preferred methods as they reclaim Gift Aid immediately adding 25p to every £1 you donate.

You can choose to make a one off donation or better still why not make a small donation every month?

Set up a direct debit with JustGiving

Donate by PayPal

You can also donate (or send any money raised) via our Paypal button – you do not need a PayPal account and can use all major debit and credit cards. However we do not automatically get Gift Aid on this method so if you are a UK tax payer please add a note in your message box to say you wish your donation to be treated as Gift Aid. Its worth an extra 25p for every £1 to us.

Gift Aid is a way for charities to reclaim the tax that members of the public have paid on the money they are donating. If you are a UK taxpayer and making a donation to Bay Search and Rescue, we can reclaim the tax you have paid. To comply with tax legislation, we will need written permission from you to do this. It does make a difference (25p extra for each £1 you donate) so we really urge you to consider this option.

Donate items we can sell in our shops

We are always looking for good quality items in our two charity shops in Grange over Sands and Milnthorpe. Find out more here.
