Join The Team
We are always looking for more help and new team members and help with running the charity.
If you are interested in joining the team as either an operational team member or a support team member (helping with events and fund raising, or anything really!) then in the first instance please send a brief covering email and some details of any relevant interests, hobbies or experience to either:
Gary Parsons - Chairman/Team Leader
gary@baysearchandrescue.org.uk
or
Paul Calland - Team Leader
paul@baysearchandrescue.org.uk
As of December 2010 the operational team is fully manned and there is a small waiting list to join. However we are always interested in hearing from potential new members so please let us know if you are interested. On the non-operational side we are always short of help for fundraising and manning stands at public events.
Team members would, if accepted onto the team, serve a one year probationary period, after which and subject to approval by the team leaders they may be offered a full team position. Team members are expected to attend one training night plus one Saturday or Sunday morning, per month, plus a few additional training days (usually a weekends) during the year. Specialist training such as Swiftwater rescue would require additional days usually during the working week, in which case time off from work would need to taken. They will also be expected to attend local events at which we fundraise and raise awareness by displaying our vehicles and talking to the public. Finally of course they will be expected to respond to any operational callouts that work or family commitments allow them to attend 24/7. All hours for training, events, incidents or otherwise are logged into our online operational admin system.
