Gift Aid

What is Gift Aid

UK charities are entitled to a 28% tax reclaim from the Inland Revenue on every £1 donated by UK taxpayers.

When you donate, you will be asked to confirm whether or not you are a UK taxpayer. If you are not a UK taxpayer, you can still make a donation but your donation will not be eligible for Gift Aid.

To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we will claim on behalf of your chosen charity in the tax year , and the donation must be made by an individual, not a company or group of individuals.

What this mean in basic terms is that if you are employed and pay tax then whatever you donate the Government will add 28p to.
So if you donate or raise £1 we get £1.28
