Donations

We are an independant organisation and Charity (No. 1090880) manned by a dedicated team of volunteers and funded almost entirely from public donations.

Donations of any size are always welcome and help keep our unique service running. Operating costs of approx. £17,000 per year (mostly insurances and fuel) are met primarily by the efforts of the team members attending local shows and giving talks to demonstrate our work and raise safety awareness. Capital items and major equipment costs are met from bequests, grants and the proceeds from our annual sponsored Cross Bay Walk.

We are extremely grateful to groups or individuals who raise money for the Bay Search and Rescue team. We rely very much on the goodwill and generosity of others. So if you would like to support us, here's how:

Donations By Post (Taxpayers 'Gift Aid')
Gift Aid is a way for charities to reclaim the tax that members of the public have paid on the money they are donating. If you are a UK taxpayer and making a donation to Bay Search and Rescue, we can reclaim the tax you have paid. To comply with tax legislation, we will need written permission from you to do this. It does make a difference (28p extra for each £1 you donate) so we really urge you to consider this option.

drysuitBuying specific items of equipment
Some people prefer to have their donation used for specific items of equipment the team needs.

So we have compiled a list - click here for details.

These are either items we do not yet have, replacements for worn out equipment or kit for new team members.

Thankyou
